Shadows Within
Shadows Within is a beautiful 2D puzzle-platformer where the player can change between their adult self and their inner child to advance. As you transform so does the world around you, with bespoke art and music for each reality.
The innovative dynamic soundtrack builds as you advance through the game, and the backgrounds evolve as the player reaches a state of peace and self-realization. Play to the end to see!
Created in 16 hours for Game Island Jam 2023, with the theme of Identity, and won Best Idea.

What a great idea and so lovingly implemented. The sound and music fit very well and the mood changes between the kid and the teenager seem super coordinated.
I also really like the design/art and it all comes together nicely. The animations are very appropriate.
The game mechanics are also simple and well implemented.
